About Cayden

About Me Hi, I’m Cayden! I recently graduated from Durham University with a First-Class degree, specialising in Spanish and international relations. Outside of my academic and teaching life, I’m passionate about chess, surfing, and reading — all of which keep me curious, focused, and balanced. I love exploring new cultures and languages, which led me to spend time teaching English in Spain with the British Council. That experience taught me a lot about adaptability and connecting with people from different backgrounds. I’m approachable, patient, and genuinely interested in getting to know my students as individuals. I believe learning is a journey best enjoyed with curiosity and kindness — and I’m excited to be part of that with you!

About the lesson

My Approach to English Teaching As a qualified British Council English teacher and First-Class Durham University graduate, my approach centres on creating engaging, supportive, and confidence-building lessons that help every student feel comfortable using English in real-life situations. I believe that language learning is most effective when it’s interactive and enjoyable, so I combine conversation-based learning, grammar in context, and listening and pronunciation practice to help students develop fluency naturally. My goal is to build confidence first, then accuracy — so students feel proud I design lessons tailored to individual goals — whether it’s: Exam preparation Conversational English for travel, work, or daily life Academic writing and essay support Confidence-building for beginners or shy speakers I use a variety of engaging materials — from articles, videos, and real-world dialogues to games and role-play — ensuring lessons remain dynamic and enjoyable. I also provide regular feedback and encourage students to reflect on their progress, helping them take ownership of their learning journey. Above all, my teaching philosophy is about connection, encouragement, and progress. I want my students to enjoy the process of learning English, to communicate confidently, and to see tangible improvement in every lesson.
