About Mazhar

Welcome! My name is Mazhar Abbas, and I am passionate about teaching biology and anatomy with a unique twist from my extensive background in physiotherapy. With a degree in physiotherapy and several years of experience in clinical and educational settings, I bring knowledge and practical insight to my teaching.

My journey in education began with a desire to share my fascination with the human body and its intricate functions. I have taught high school and college students, as well as adult learners, helping them grasp complex biological concepts and see their real-world applications. My students consistently achieve excellent results, not only in their exams but also in their understanding and appreciation of the subject.

I believe that every student has the potential to excel when given the right tools and support. My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching Classes

My teaching methodology is rooted in creating an engaging and interactive learning environment that caters to the individual needs of each student. I employ a variety of techniques to ensure concepts are understood thoroughly and retained effectively:
I use models, diagrams, and multimedia resources to make complex biological and anatomical concepts easier to understand. This helps visualise the structures and functions, which is particularly effective in subjects like anatomy.
I encourage students to ask questions and participate in discussions. This helps in reinforcing their understanding and allows me to address any misconceptions immediately.
Given my background in physiotherapy, I integrate real-world examples and case studies into my lessons. This not only makes the material more interesting but also shows students the practical applications of what they are learning.
Regular quizzes, assignments, and practical assessments help track progress. I provide constructive feedback to guide students in areas that need improvement.
Each lesson is tailored to meet the specific needs and learning pace of the student. I assess their strengths and weaknesses to focus on areas that require more attention.
A typical lesson lasts about 60 minutes. This duration is ideal to cover new material, review previous content, and engage in interactive activities without overwhelming the student. For more advanced or intensive sessions, particularly with older students or those preparing for exams, lessons may extend to 90 minutes.
I hold a master's degree in exercise medicine from Chester Medical School and a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy, which gives me a deep understanding of human anatomy and biology. Additionally, I have several years of experience teaching these subjects at both the high school and college levels. My background in physiotherapy enhances my teaching, as I can offer insights into the practical applications of biological concepts in healthcare settings. I have also completed various professional development courses in education, which have equipped me with effective teaching strategies and methodologies.
