About Nicholas
I'm Nick, a performing musician and coach based in Frome.
I've played and taught for years, and alongside music I work as a professional mindset coach, which shapes how I teach: patiently, with real attention to the person in front of me, not just the instrument.
What drives me is the moment something clicks for a student - when the pressure drops away and they realise they can actually do this. I've seen it with nervous beginners, with teenagers who thought they weren't 'musical', and with adults coming back to an instrument after years away. My job is to make that moment happen sooner and more often.
I perform myself, so I know the difference between playing notes and making music. I bring that to every lesson: not just technique, but feel, timing, and the joy of it.
Whether you want to master the basics, play songs you love, or get stage-ready, I'll meet you where you are and take you further than you expected.

Ever picked up a bass or guitar, felt a spark, then hit a wall and put it down?
That is exactly where I come in. My lessons are built around confidence, momentum and enjoyment, not just scales and theory. We start where you are, no judgement, and we make it fun from the first session.
I have taught players of all ages and levels, from total beginners to teenagers to adults returning after years away.
Alongside teaching, I work as a coach, so I am as interested in what is going on in your head as what your fingers are doing. Most stuckness is not about talent, it is about pressure, self-doubt and trying to run before you can walk. We take that off the table.
Expect a relaxed, encouraging space where you actually look forward to practising. We will get you playing songs you love quickly, build real skill underneath it, and keep the whole thing enjoyable. Whether you want to jam, perform, or just have fun in your front room, I will meet you there.
