About Alisha

I am a qualified teacher with a B.Ed in Mathematics, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences, a B.Ed Honors in Inclusive Education (Special Needs), and I am currently completing my M.Ed.

I am passionate about helping learners understand challenging concepts and build confidence in their abilities.

I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to give learners the individual attention they need to succeed. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, improving their understanding, and achieving better results.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is supportive, structured, and focused on helping learners truly understand their work rather than simply memorising answers. I believe every learner has the ability to succeed when concepts are explained clearly and at the right pace. Because learners all think and learn differently, I adapt my lessons to suit each student’s individual learning style, strengths, and challenges.

What makes my teaching unique is my background in Inclusive Education (Special Needs). This allows me to support learners who may struggle with concentration, confidence, or understanding complex concepts. I break difficult topics into smaller, manageable steps and use clear explanations, examples, and practice exercises to help learners build strong foundations.

I am able to teach in English and Afrikaans, depending on what the learner is most comfortable with.
In a typical lesson, I first identify the areas where the learner needs support. I then explain the concept step by step, work through examples together, and guide the learner through practice questions while providing feedback and encouragement.

My lessons are interactive and supportive, creating a safe space where learners feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while learning.

My lessons are aimed at Intermediate and Senior Phase learners, particularly those studying Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences. I assist learners who need extra support with schoolwork, exam preparation, homework guidance, or those who want to improve their understanding and academic performance.

My goal is not only to help learners improve their marks but also to build their confidence, develop independent thinking, and create a more positive attitude toward learning.
