About Christine
I am Christine .I have a bachelor’s degree and teacher training in science. I am currently employed as a full-time teacher of biology, chemistry and KS3 science in England and also do online private tutoring. I am a dedicated, professional, kind and a student-centred educator with more than two decades of science teaching experience . I am very passionate about teaching science and building relationships in the classroom where students are very comfortable but understand boundaries.
I enjoy teaching science and love that it is a discipline that encourages students to be critical thinkers and make sense of the real world.

My students describe me as a passionate, caring, dedicated, committed and inspiring teacher. I believe that children learn best when they are most comfortable, feel relevant and valuable and believe that you have their best interest at heart. I believe that my teaching strategies are most successful when I make it adaptable to the needs of my students.
I believe that science should be fun and engaging with lots of experiments and/or simulations. My students say they enjoy my lessons most because they are comfortable and never made to feel that their answers are foolish or irrelevant. They have made reference to the fact that the way I guide them to getting the most appropriate answers help them to remember concepts much more easily than if they had guessed the answers correctly initially.
I love to interleave because it gives students the opportunity to revisit earlier concepts so that they remain current in their minds. I enjoy using a divergent/convergent model to teach as I believe that this model allows for critical thinking, requiring the students either to describe analyse and evaluate known method/s but also to thoroughly investigate and evaluate other possibilities which are presented to them in unfamiliar contexts such as exams. If the students can grasp these concepts in unfamiliar contexts, then learning has occurred.
