About Luca
Luca Somigli is a performer, composer, and teacher with over 10 years of experience. After growing up in Rome, Italy and developing contemporary music background on Drums and Guitar, he continued his discovery on Piano and other instruments and musical styles. Luca attended the London College of Contemporary Music in London, where he focused on Contemporary Performance and Composition. Luca helps students identify their own interests and goals while ensuring a solid foundation in musical knowledge and instrument skills. Luca received his BMus Performance and Production from LCCM in London, UK.
For any information or bookings, please feel free to send me a message. I usually teach within weekdays and lessons are arranged either at my studio near Limehouse Station, E1W 3HB or directly at your home.

My methodology is based on focusing your attention on a determined number of areas to work in, which are flexible depending on specific student needs.
These include:
- Improvisation techniques
- Left-hand comping techniques (rootless voicings, one hand spread voicings, tritones)
- Chart reading and stylistic improvisation (chords and melody, soloing, head with variations)
- Ear training
- Composing
- Time management (how to work effectively in a limited amount of time)
If requested, I also teach grades up to highest level for ABSM, TRINITY, ROCKSCHOOL
