About Jenna
I am a Politics and Economics student at university going into my second year. I have achieved high grades in my maths GCSE, A-level, and first year maths modules at university. Over the years I have picked up an extensive amount of skills, techniques, and tips that I am eager to pass onto my students and watch them achieve higher grades.
I have been tutoring for about 3 years. My students have ranged from Key stage 2 to A-Level in large classes/groups as well as many one to one sessions. I have also been a long term private tutor to students with learning difficulties and mental illnesses.
All of my students achieve higher grades because I tailor my sessions to the needs of the individual. I use checklists and provide end of lesson quizzes to concrete understanding. I also take time to mentor my students as academic performance is heavily dependent on too much/lack of confidence and dedication. No struggle or concern will go unnoticed as I am determined to push you to your peak. Looking forward to tutoring you!

I tend to use the first session to figure out your level of understanding on the topic and subject as a whole (usually with a detailed checklist tailored for your exam board/syllabus). I prefer to work as a team rather than me teaching you, so that each session can be focused on what you personally find difficult, taking full advantage of the one-on-one aspect. It is very important for me to listen to what you find difficult so my students input into my lesson plans are crucial. I also pay close attention to recurring mistakes or habits and plan exercises to rectify them.
As the sessions go on we will tick off our checklist once I am confident that you are clear on the topics. I like to set homework between each session as I believe practice makes progress!
Each session generally starts with two questions checking understanding of the last topic. Then into taught methods of three current topic ending with exercises of increasing difficulty. However, this lesson structure is subject to change depending on the needs of the individual or group.
