About Marcello

Hi, I’m Marcello! I’ve been tutoring for over five years, specializing in all levels of mathematics and science, from algebra and geometry to calculus, physics, biology, and even pharmacy coursework and exam prep (including NAPLEX). I also help students prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, and Regents. My background in pharmacy, finance, and data analysis allows me to connect complex academic concepts to real-world applications, helping students see the “why” behind what they’re learning. Before becoming a full-time tutor, I spent five years as a teaching assistant in NYC public schools, working in both general and special education classrooms. That experience taught me how to adapt explanations to fit each student’s needs and to help learners at every level, whether they’re advanced, struggling, or have an IEP. Many of my students have raised their grades dramatically, and test prep students often see score increases of 100–150 points on the SAT. A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in about how you’re feeling about the topic or any recent assignments. Then, we break down the main concept step by step before working through examples together. Once you’re feeling comfortable, you’ll get a chance to try similar problems on your own (with my support whenever you need it). We wrap up by reviewing key points and setting small, achievable goals for next time. Every session is tailored to your needs, whether you’re catching up, getting ahead, or just looking to strengthen your understanding. What really sets me apart is how I connect with students. I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed. I create a positive, judgment-free space where you can ask anything and build real confidence in your skills.
