About Rachel
I have 14 years of teaching experience and hold a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students from diverse academic backgrounds, helping them transform uncertainty into confidence through structured instruction, encouraging mentorship, and individualized learning strategies. I enjoy creating learning environments where students feel motivated to explore mathematical ideas independently.
One learner initially found algebraic optimization problems challenging because selecting appropriate variables and establishing mathematical constraints required careful reasoning. Through practical engineering scenarios, guided investigations, and incremental problem-solving exercises, the student steadily developed confidence and achieved exceptional improvement in academic performance.
I believe algebra strengthens analytical thinking, logical reasoning, perseverance, and precision that prepare students for lifelong academic and professional success. Outside teaching, I enjoy developing inquiry-based mathematics activities, contributing to curriculum improvement projects, and exploring educational technologies that enhance student engagement.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes building strong algebraic thinking through understanding, reasoning, and consistent application. Every student begins with a personalized evaluation that identifies conceptual strengths, learning preferences, confidence level, academic goals, and study habits. Based on these findings, I design customized lesson plans that strengthen foundational algebra while progressively introducing advanced concepts through carefully structured instruction.
Students receive detailed instruction in variables, algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, graphing, linear and quadratic functions, polynomial operations, factorization techniques, rational expressions, radicals, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations, sequences, matrices, and algebraic modeling. Lessons integrate guided instruction, visual demonstrations, collaborative discussions, analytical questioning, technology-assisted learning, structured exercises, and independent problem-solving activities. Students regularly explain their reasoning, verify solutions, compare different approaches, and build confidence by understanding the logic behind every mathematical process.
Lessons include authentic examples from aerospace engineering, actuarial science, digital commerce, artificial intelligence, renewable energy systems, urban planning, pharmaceutical research, and manufacturing analytics to demonstrate how algebra supports real-world innovation and informed decision-making. Students complete regular assessments, personalized assignments, cumulative revision activities, and comprehensive performance reviews that strengthen understanding while preparing them thoroughly for examinations.
Students preparing for school examinations, board assessments, SAT, ACT, scholarship examinations, university entrance tests, or competitive mathematics programs receive individualized preparation schedules featuring targeted revision plans, timed practice examinations, error-analysis sessions, and detailed academic coaching designed to maximize achievement.
