About Wren

With 11 years of experience teaching math and a degree in Mathematics for Data Science, I’ve learned that the key to success is patience and creativity. I help middle school students strengthen their algebra skills — especially in linear equations, polynomials, and functions. I understand that every student’s brain works differently. That’s why I use puzzles, games, and relatable examples to make learning engaging. My sessions focus on building understanding step by step, so math feels achievable, not intimidating. I’ve worked with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners, adapting each lesson to what works best for them. Overcoming math anxiety is one of my main goals, and I do it through positivity and persistence. When students realize they can solve problems on their own, everything changes. I love watching that spark of confidence appear. Math becomes more than numbers — it becomes a language of logic and possibility. Algebra can be fun, and I make sure it is.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy is centered around connecting math to real life. I teach foundational mathematics along with financial literacy, including interest calculations, budgeting, and investment analysis. We use puzzles and projects that make math lively and practical. Confidence grows as students begin applying concepts to financial choices. Step by step, they learn to think critically and manage resources wisely. I aim to make every learner comfortable with math as both a skill and a life tool.
