About Aitana
My interest in Excel grew from a desire to understand and organize information more effectively. During my B.B.A in Business Analytics, I discovered how powerful spreadsheets can be when used thoughtfully, and that realization shaped my passion for teaching the subject. Over the past seven years, I have worked with students, professionals, and beginners of all comfort levels, helping each one build confidence and clarity in using Excel for meaningful tasks. I truly enjoy watching learners transform from feeling unsure about spreadsheets to confidently building structured, functional workbooks. I believe in teaching Excel through a calm, flexible approach that respects each student’s pace. Many people come to me thinking Excel is complicated or intimidating, but I enjoy showing them how approachable it becomes with patient explanation and guided practice. I value being supportive and attentive, helping students develop not only technical skills but also the problem-solving mindset needed to design effective spreadsheets. My lessons focus on clarity, real-world applications, and building strong foundational habits that support long-term success. Outside teaching, I continue exploring new Excel features, data visualization techniques, and analytical tools. I enjoy learning about how data influences modern decision-making and how spreadsheets support industries ranging from finance and research to science and everyday planning. These interests allow me to bring updated knowledge, practical insights, and real examples into my lessons. My goal is to make learners feel empowered with a skill set that can support them academically, professionally, and personally.

My Excel lessons begin with the essential building blocks that allow students to feel comfortable navigating spreadsheets: understanding the interface, entering data, organizing information, and using basic formulas. I take time to demonstrate each concept clearly, ensuring learners fully grasp how Excel thinks and processes information. This early stage helps students build confidence as they practice creating tables, formatting worksheets, and learning shortcuts that make their work more efficient. I always keep the environment patient and supportive so students feel encouraged to explore.
As learners progress, we move into more meaningful areas such as logical formulas, text functions, conditional formatting, and structured data organization. I guide students through the reasoning behind each feature, explaining not only how something works but why it is useful. At this level, we often work through mini-projects that simulate real-world tasks such as budgeting, data comparison, and report creation. These activities help students develop a practical sense of how Excel becomes a powerful problem-solving tool.
For advanced learners, we explore pivot tables, advanced formulas, chart creation, data cleaning techniques, and useful automation strategies. I teach students how to structure spreadsheets for clarity, accuracy, and long-term usability, skills that are especially valuable in academic and professional environments. We also practice interpreting datasets, building dashboards, and designing formulas that simplify complex tasks. By the end, learners not only understand Excel deeply but also feel confident applying it to real scenarios, whether for school, business, research, or personal projects.
