About Luke

I am a dedicated tutor with over three years of experience, specializing in KS3, Sixth Form, and university-level mathematics. I’m passionate about teaching because I enjoy helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.

My teaching approach is highly structured and student-focused. Each session begins with a few minutes dedicated to well-being and rapport-building. Lessons include regular comprehension checks, exam preparation with detailed mark scheme analysis, and personalized support tailored to each student’s needs. About the lesson

Sessions begin with 2-3 minutes dedicated to student well-being and building rapport. Initial inquiries identify the student’s goals and any required adjustments. Teaching is interspersed with comprehension checks every 5-10 minutes, welcoming questions to ensure clarity. The last 5 minutes are used to review objectives and plan next steps, including optional homework. Exam questions and mark scheme analysis are provided to enhance scores. This structured approach ensures students receive personalised attention and tailored support to excel in their studies.

Specialises in KS3, Sixth Form, and University-level pure and applied mathematics, covering GCSE Mathematics with Statistics, A-Level (Further) Mathematics (AQA, Edexcel, OCR), Real/Complex Analysis, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Quantum Mechanics. Currently expanding knowledge in computer science and programming, with plans to include Python programming. This broad expertise ensures students receive comprehensive support across a wide range of mathematical topics, preparing them for various academic challenges and future career opportunities.

With 3 years of tutoring experience, including work as a Mathematics Intervention Specialist at Bishop Burton College in May 2021, now working full-time providing GCSE, A-Level, and university tuition in the UK and USA.
