About Mark
I have been teaching and providing student support since 2004. Regarding my experience it varies greatly; I have both lectured to large groups of undergraduates and also provided one to one support to SEN pupils in primary and high school. I am informal and friendly and as stated earlier extremely practical in resolving problems. You either tell me what you are struggling with or I review your work in order to troubleshoot it. I am quite happy to be sent essays and dissertations to proof read and suggest alterations, and it is always gratifying to see my students flourish and achieve their desired grades. As I said before, I'm quite happy to communicate to help you decide if you think I'm the man for the job.

I am Dr Mark Astley, my doctorate is in media studies. As a tutor I am flexible as the needs of students can differ greatly. I have lectured at the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and Salford University. Also I am a published author. I like to think of myself as a practical trouble shooter when it comes to providing academic support and I am pragmatic in identifying and resolving problems. For example for an essay or dissertation to be successful it may just need a methodology to be tweaked or research sources to be located. I have taught or provided student support at high school, college and university level. I am presently supply teaching, and welcome any queries regarding my competence. And though it sounds corny I pride myself on always going the extra mile.
