About Myrtle
Years spent performing on stage and in the studio have shaped my approach to teaching piano students. You will find that I focus heavily on ABRSM and Trinity grade exam preparation to ensure steady progress. My background includes mastering pedaling technique, sight playing, music theory, pop and contemporary styles, and accompaniment skills. I aim to help you reach your musical goals efficiently.

Practicality remains the core of my teaching philosophy because real music making requires a clear sound. Imagine the sensation of your fingers landing precisely on the keys to produce a perfectly balanced chord during a complex passage.
I hold a Master of Music in Music Performance from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, which informs how I break down difficult technical passages for my students. We spend time refining your touch so that every scale and arpeggio feels natural and controlled. You will enjoy how these organized, goal oriented sessions make your growth audible and satisfying to your own ears.
