About Khaya
Hi! My name is Khaya, and I’m a tutor who is passionate about science and IT-related fields. I went to Pretoria Boys High School. I have always been the nerdy, geeky type but I did also play rugby, soccer, and basketball.
I performed well in high school, averaging above 70% with an APS between 33 and 37, and I understand both the pressure and the strategies needed to succeed. I’m currently studying information systems and the study techniques I use have stuck with me since high school.

I offer structured and supportive tutoring in mathematics, science, and IT for high school students. I averaged above 70% in high school with an APS between 33 and 37, so I understand what it takes to achieve strong results. My teaching style focuses on explaining concepts in a simple, clear way and helping students truly understand the basics before moving to harder work. I don’t just teach memorization. I teach students how to think, solve problems, and approach exams with confidence as that was something I learned early on, which helped me.
In a typical lesson, we review previous work, break down new topics step by step, practice together, and then test understanding with guided exercises. I try to make the lessons goal-focused but also allowing the students to walk on their own feet with their academics. I teach in English and work best with Grades 8 to 12 students who want to improve their marks, build confidence, or prepare for exams.
