I entered the private education industry immediately after graduation because I felt I could have a larger impact in a more flexible educational environment than I could in a rigid structure such as a school. I have had several notable successes and the joy that students greet me with when they achieve their aims is one of the highlights of the job.

Classes are heavily focused on engagement and discussion rather than lecturing. Typically a class will be 60 minutes in length and will likely involve a discussion of a piece of written work a student has produced for homework. My experience as a tutor is heavily focused around A-level exams and university admissions so classes are typically for students aged 15+
