About Mia
Hi there! I'm Mia, a graduate of Bryn Mawr College with a B.A. in English and minor in Education. I have been a college essay tutor at Bryn Mawr College for 2 years, tutoring hundreds of students on papers as well as public speaking and presentations. In the summer of 2019, I taught 7th grade ELA where I gained classroom experience as well as additional writing pedagogy and training (and I got to be a teacher to 50 amazing students!). My other past experiences include reporting for The Long Island Press where I wrote restaurant reviews, advertised entertainment and theater, and interviewed locals on town events. Currently, I am a tutor on Princeton Review's tutor.com as a college essay tutor where I conduct virtual one-on-one sessions!

I work primarily with later high school and college age students on essay writing as well as college application essays and internship/scholarship applications. I love working with students to develop their ideas and also their writing strategies to make them stronger writers independent of our sessions. I have a different approach with every student I work with, and like to discuss writing goals that we can tackle and work on during each meeting. My go-to tutoring tool is having my students use whiteboards to scribble out ideas and develop their thoughts; I also like sessions of free-writing. My favorite part about being a writing tutor is getting to listen to my students' amazing and unique ideas, as well as seeing them grow!
