About Maria Melina

After completing my BA in Combined Studies, I did an intensive course in teaching English as a foreign language. I then traveled and taught in Greece, Spain, and Poland. When I returned to England, I worked at FE colleges while doing a Level 5 Diploma in teaching adults with an ESOL specialism. The past few years I have been tutoring privately both online and at students' place of work or home.

About the lesson

I have been teaching English as a foreign language for over 20 years. I have an easy-going teaching style and work with the students' needs. My lessons are generally 1 hour unless the student prefers a longer session. The majority of my experience is with adults and I have experience with all levels. The student can choose whether they want to focus on all the skills or they can choose a particular area, such as conversation or grammar.

Maria was teaching me at work for almost three years. She is a wonderful teacher who makes classes tremendously enjoyable without lowering the level of demand. Thanks to her motivation and her continuous effort to get the best out of her students, I was able to pass the Cambridge Advanced the first time. I highly recommend her.

Maria was my English tutor for more than 2 years, and during that time I got my Certificate in Advance English given by Cambridge Assessment.
Maria is extremely patient, very friendly, her communications skills are superb and she will make sure the lesson fits every student.
On a personal note, I have been keeping contact with her despite she is no longer my English teacher, because Maria is such a very good person.
