I am a certified para professional, with 5 years experience tutoring children in English as a Second Language. I have worked with Spanish, Chinese, Tongan, Navajo, and many other nationalities, of children. I have used original and unique techniques to help children learn the English Language.

I like to get to know each child first, and decide how much English they know. Once I have established their competency in the language, I customize a curriculum based on reading and comprehension levels. I use a lot of pictures and stories with a lot of pictures. I concentrate on comprehension and vocabulary. That tends to allow the children to integrate much more quickly. I can also tutor them in math and science using some of the same concepts.
