About Kelsey
I have been teaching English since 2018. I began my teaching journey in South Korea where I taught ESL to young students for 3 years. During this time, I worked to earn my teaching certification in K-12 ESL. I then moved back to the US and taught ELA to grades 3-8 for 2 years. In that time, I expanded my English teaching knowledge on reading and writing techniques. I now work as a civilian teaching adults English through a US military contract. In my eight years of teaching, I have learned how to meet students where they’re at and use their strengths to their benefits. If you were to become one of my students, I would want to make you feel comfortable in the learning process.

I do my best to find out what motivates you. If you like movies, reading, sports, or anything in between, I use your interests to help you engage with the lessons. I believe that grammar and phonics are the foundations of learning a new language. In our lessons, we will review previous lessons and then begin a new lesson of daily vocabulary and a grammar point. My teaching belief is that learning should be fun! If we aren’t having fun, I will make sure to figure out how to make our lessons better for you!
