I am a down to earth, no nonesense tutor. Our lessons should be a two-way dialogue. Open communication is important for learning and I want my students to feel comfortable asking for the help they need in the way that works best for them. My lessons typically involve practice problems, and/or reviewing notes and concepts with comprehension checks, depending on the needs or requests of the student.
Conceptual leaning!!! I want my students to be able to answer questions not because they've memorized some pattern, but because they understand the fundamental concept so that they are able to use that skillset to problem solve a diverse set of problems.
I focus on first year univeristy/cejept courses as well as high school classes.
I have taken Calc 1 and 2, Chemistry 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry, Physics 1 and 2 at Mcgill.
