About Kevin
I have a bachelor's in Applied mathematics and a Master's in secondary math education. I am a veteran teacher that will be entering their 15th year of teaching in August. I have tutored many students outside the classroom and also many of my former students when they move on to more complex topics and concepts in the upper level maths.

I am a career and math teacher and have been teaching for the last 14 years. Lately my focus has been on statistics but I have taught multiple levels including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, and of course AP Statistics. When I'm tutoring I evaluate the student first to see what their needs are and tailor my lessons on meeting those needs. It is not enough to just solve an equation and get the answer. My philosophy is to make sure the student understands the concept and not just memorizing a formula. In my classroom, my lessons are very activity-based and focus on "exploring first formalizing later" which I have used extensively in my statistics classes. I also included activity-based lessons in my other classes, especially geometry which I have taught for the last 14 years. Whatever a student they're struggling with, my priority is to get to the root of the problem and not push the student through the lessons. Whatever a student is struggling with. I don't look down upon them nor do I demean them for not understanding something. I want to build their confidence.
