About Phoebe
I am a second year English Literature student studying at Newcastle University. I am extremely friendly and outgoing, as well as having achieved high grades throughout school and thus far at university level, where I am on course for a first class degree. I am originally from London and attended an all-girls Church of England school for seven years where I completed GCSEs and A levels. I studied Art, History, English and History of Art at A Level and achieved A*AAA grades. As well as this, I achieved grade 8 piano and grade 6 cello awards with ABRSM, meaning I am well-experienced in juggling lots of commitments. At university, to expand my writing and extra-curricular commitment, I have written for the student newspaper and also am an avid member of the Theatre Society, having directed and produced various shows. I am the oldest of four, and dealing with children has been a major part of my formative years. I have consistently babysat since the age of 15, taking on childcare responsibility from such a young age has helped me to become sensitive to the needs and minds of children.

I love to organise and lead people, and I my teaching style is relaxed but to the point. I am very interested in constructing interesting debate and encouraging wider reading and thinking with young people of all ages. I am 20 years old, and I believe that my youth adds to my strengths and ability to understand the issues and problems that young people may be facing - as it was not such as long time ago I was taking school-level qualifications. I understand the stresses and tribulations of school, and I would like to form hardworking friendships with my students. I believe that my ability to empathise with those around me and overall organisational skills allow me to teach effectively and successfully.
