About Elizabeth
I am a current dental student at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. I will be graduating with my Doctor's of Dental Surgery degree in 2024. I currently hold a Bachelors of Arts in Biochemistry with a minor in Biology. My strengths in tutoring are in the natural sciences, specifically biology and chemistry. Due to the rigor of my undergraduate major, I understand that both biology and chemistry are subjects that are not often comprehended immediately. However, to advance in science, it is essential to have a firm understanding of these general areas. These are subjects that require time, patience, and hard work. I am a firm believer that you can learn and teach yourself anything and it can actually turn out to be fun! Do not get discouraged if you come across a topic that seems impossible, I get it! I can help to break down topics for your understanding so that we can move on and advance to other, more complex areas of science.

I approach each learning topic in Biology with the end goal of developing meaningful and engaging instruction for each student. Biology requires strong skills of critical thought, problem solving, and attention to detail. In my experience, learning general biology requires the student to visualize what exactly is happening, it is very easy to get lost in the scientific terminology. In order to understand the many critical processes that occur within biology, a systematic, organized system is essential. I will help the student develop an organized study system while also aiding them to visualize where exactly these processes are occurring and what they mean for us today! The most important thing to remember in biology is that it is 100% applicable to human life. Internalizing this concept will help you stay motivated as you develop your scientific mind for the professional world!
