About Ellie

I have been a private tutor for 8 years - for all abilities and ages, including SEN students. I am also a drummer and I teach for grades or fun. I have a background in science and have worked at a school before.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Ellie - I’m a private tutor and have BSc Forensic Science and MSc Bioarchaeology. I have previously completed A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. I have been tutoring now for 8 years, I am really easy-going, approachable and enthusiastic about learning! I teach maths, English, science and drumming. I take quite a practical side to learning, by trying to teach people by getting them to do activities rather than listening to me ramble on as I believe it is much more effective, I also am able to provide a lot of resources I have from the past. I also play the drums, and can teach from a complete beginner all the way up to grade 5.I currently teach students from year 1 to GCSE - including preparation for 11+ exams upcoming. I teach at students homes around north London, i am also happy to tutor online. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions...

Ellie has been teaching my son for 2 years now, he has got a place in our first choice of independent schools after passing his entrance exam. Ellie still comes weekly to push him in maths and English so he does not fall behind in school to set him up for secondary school. I recommend her as she has a great approach to learning and my son does not get bored with her!
