About Lina

In the course of my teaching, I have worked for about eleven years as a Mathematics and ICT teacher in elementary
and secondary school education. My work has always proved both enormously rewarding and fulfilling. I gained
experience in how to develop and implement innovative lesson plans and school-based curriculum that emphasizes
on small class teaching and catering for learning diversity.

For my academic career, I am taking my master in Special Education at Vancouver Island University. In addition, I earned my PGDE (Mathematics) from the Chinese University of
Hong Kong and an honor degree in Mathematics from the City University of Hong Kong. During my secondary
education in Singapore and the U.K., I obtained an A in Mathematics at the Cambridge GCSE O Level. I have also
obtained teacher registration under the Hong Kong Education Ordinance since 2008 and now waiting my application
for the BC Ministry of Education teacher certificate.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is characterized by a demonstrated proficiency in making intricate mathematical concepts more accessible and comprehensible for students across grades 4 to 10. I leverage my established proficiency in incorporating technology tools, such as interactive software, educational apps, and online resources, to enhance the learning experience. This includes tailoring my teaching methods to accommodate different age groups and learning styles, with a specialized focus on GCSE O- Level and IB programs.

I believe in the effectiveness of hands-on activities, real-world examples, and visual aids to foster a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. Additionally, my ability to teach Mathematics in a bilingual format, proficiently switching between English and Chinese, ensures that students receive instruction in a language that maximizes their comprehension and engagement.

Overall, my tutoring approach is dynamic, adaptable, and geared towards creating a supportive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students, making mathematics an accessible and enjoyable subject for all.
