About Samantha
I am an enthusiastic learner who is always seeking ways to help others improve. I have been in the education field for about 3 years now, which has allowed me to find a passion in teaching others and boosting their confidence academically. I do have classroom experience as a 5th grade teacher along with tutoring experience with K-12 students. I have worked with subjects such as,Elementary Math, Elementary Science, Pre-Algebra,Algebra 1, Algebra 2, U.S. History, English, Biology, and Health Sciences. I have also helped students with general homework help on all subjects and created schedules to help test prep. With the experience I have had, I have implemented organization and creativity to help students become more detail oriented with their work. I am a caring, patient and dedicated individual that will go the extra mile when needed.
I am currently studying for the medical college admissions test ( MCAT). In the future, I would like to be a medical physician, but for now, I want to pursue a career that will allow me to help others succeed academically. Tutoring allows me to impact a one student at a time.
My hobbies consist of playing volleyball, volunteering, and trying new foods.

My teaching approach is based on where the student is at in their understanding. When moving forward with my students, creativity, organization, and of course, enthusiasm about learning are advocated.
In a typically tutoring session, a white board, colorful markers, colorful sticky notes, and worksheets for practice are implemented. Notes are also reviewed throughout the session to be sure the student understands the topic clearly, not just in the tutoring session, but afterwards as well.
I give organized step by step instruction on how to approach math problems or how to effectively study for a science test.
I do my best to teach my students study habits to be sure they succeed in their classes.
