About Alexandra
I have a BA Hons degree in Early Childhood Studies. I looked at different methods of education such as Steiner, Montessori and Forest schools as well as looking at Froebel. I have been a tutor for about 3 years but have worked with children for the past 11. I have worked in a Sunday school for 3 years where I planned lessons every week. I have been a classroom assistant which included working with the lowest ability groups in the class and helping them with their classwork. I specialise in English, maths and science for children aged between 5-11 (primary/elementary levels). I have a particular interest in helping children with dyslexia overcome their problems in class with reading and writing. I have prepared children for their 7+, 11+ and SATs KS2 tests. I use various materials such as CGP, BOND, and past papers and target areas. I make sure to start and end the lesson with a maths game (if we have time) and will always ask the students about the latest books they are reading (if that's what they are interested in) I will also plan a lesson, however, you would like me to focus on an area (e.g. ratio) I will be happy to do this instead of what was planned for the lesson.
