About Illia
I hold a Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics from Western Sydney University, awarded the Dean's Medal for academic excellence. My background is in how language actually works — grammar, structure, and meaning — which shapes how I explain things rather than just correct them.
I've run a handful of trial lessons here on Superprof, and I've spent plenty of time outside formal settings walking friends and acquaintances through tricky grammar points or essay feedback until it clicked for them. I keep lessons practical: we work on what's actually getting in your way, whether that's grammar, writing, or conversation confidence.
Open to all levels and ages. Lessons available online or in person around Sydney.

I studied linguistics, so I tend to explain grammar in terms of how it actually works rather than just giving you a rule to memorise. Lessons are built around whatever you're struggling with — that might be grammar, essay writing, or just getting more comfortable speaking. I'll ask what you want to work on and we'll go from there rather than following a fixed structure.
