About Tilly

My name is Tilly. I am a student in S6/year 13, and I study opera on a scholarship at a specialist music school in Edinburgh. I began my education in the English system, and studied English literature and language until year 10, when I moved to Scotland, having achieved grade 9s in my mock exams. Having moved to Scotland, I learnt the entirety of the National 5 course in 8 months, achieving an A1 (A*). The following year I achieved an A1 in higher English. Being a student myself and having studied both the English and Scottish systems, I have an extremely current knowledge of the exams and have multiple learning methods at my disposal. Also, I regularly volunteer in English primary schools, regularly working with students in a year 6 classroom, as students are preparing for SATS, meaning I have a deep knowledge of primary English as well as at a secondary level.

About the lesson

I offer the first 2 sessions free. The first session is a consultation where we will discuss the tutoring approach that works best for you, then the second session will focus on whether you enjoy my tutoring approach. I offer; help with homework, consolidation work of topics completed in school, completely teaching a new topic from scratch, exam preparation, and I am happy to complete either entire lesson plans in advance or just work on an area that you decide at the beginning of the session! If you are a visual learner, I use teams, so can do worked examples on the interactive whiteboard. I also provide worksheets and past papers to help students learn in the best way for them!
