About Shama

Hi!
My name is Shama and I am currently a first-year student at Queen Mary, University of London and I am studying Law LLB. I chose to study Law as it encompasses my strong essay writing skills I have gained from English Literature and History A level and my interest in law from studying Politics. I have achieved 3 A's at A- Level in the subjects English Literature, Politics and History but also have extensive knowledge in other GCSE subjects. I have completed both GCSE and AS exams and have a lot of knowledge to pass on to students and hopefully making learning a lot easier for them!
I have a passion for English literature and History which I am able to teach at GCSE, KS3 and A-levels as a well as an excellent understanding of exam technique and ways to boost your grades! I am a friendly, hard-working tutor determined to help learners progress in their studies and achieve the best grades possible!

About the lesson

I will structure my lessons according to the preference of the student. This preference may entail tutoring a particular topic that they may find difficult or want consolidating from class; or equally may want help and feedback from answering exam-based questions. Through my A-Levels , I have managed to acquire the understanding of how students work and respond to different types of learning and am passionate about helping others achieve the grades they desire to get, even if they are confused about where to begin.

I like to use my first lesson with a student to gage their ability, what they excel at and areas of struggle. The first lesson also gives me the opportunity to understand what the student enjoys, thus, in future lessons I can incorporate this into their learning, making it enjoyable for the student but also effective in terms of their learning. I will do an exam-style question most lessons, as I feel that embedding them into the lesson itself allows us to look at them in a way that makes them seem less daunting and stressful. This way, when we have a go at past exam papers, you will have seen and tackled a lot of similar questions before and will feel well equipped to answer them!

I will send parents weekly or monthly reports (what ever is most suited to you) informing you of what we covered in the lesson, what went well and areas that we still need to focus on

I hope to instil each student with confidence so that when the exam day comes, the necessary skills and knowledge are there for them to come out with a grade they so deserve!
