About Ralph

My name is Ralph Gilbert and I am an English teacher. I have very good teaching skills: in talking with students about every day things, how to say words, how to read and how to write. I also teach grammar.

I have studied in different fields: science, computing, religion, and history, and language .

I like learning about different cultures: about food, history, religion and sport.

I love languages. I can speak fluent German; I also have some knowledge in French, Italian, Greek, Spanish, and Latin. I will be interested in language, because language is an important part of your culture.

I will enjoy teaching you very much. It gives me pleasure when a student learns and improves his or her English, because then the student can improve their life in Australia. You can be a better student at school; you can get new life skills, in shopping, banking, Centrelink. And you can learn how to apply for a job.

My lessons go for one hour. I teach you English at your level of understanding. You will learn speaking, reading, and writing skills in the lesson. I can promise you that the lessons will never be boring. I like teaching just one student because I can give him or her just the right things to learn.

About the lesson

My lesson duration is normally one hour.
I use the following methodology:
• The lesson begins with conversation. Every-day topics, e.g. shopping, transport, banking, the weather, news. Engage the student in any other topic the student has particular interest in.
• Reading skills. Includes forms students required to complete; relevant newspaper stories; simple English novel.
• Pronunciation skills. This will cross over with introductory conversation and reading skills.
• Grammar skills. These are set at the level of the student, from beginner level to advanced.
• I can teach at multiple levels: school children, beginners, intermediate, and advanced students.
• With my life experience, I can engage students in subjects spanning many fields of life.
