One of the reasons I decided to become a tutor was because I felt very confident in my English skills. Starting off as quite a poor writer at the beginning of my high school career, I learned different techniques and tips to improve my writing, making me into the strong writer I am today. For comparison, I was one of the lower achievers in my Literary Studies 9 class, but I finished English Studies 12 with one of the highest marks in the class: 96%. This achievement in English Studies 12 allowed me to gain a scholarship from the University of Toronto, known as "University of Toronto Scholar," worth $7500. Throughout this journey of improvement, I’ve learned many key tools to enhance my capabilities, which are among the many things I’m hoping to share with you during our sessions! I’ve had many great mentors in my own life, and I like to think I’ve picked up valuable leadership qualities from every individual who has taught me. I strongly believe the most important quality of being a tutor is to be someone you can relate to, and as someone who’s experienced all skill levels of writing, I think I can connect with everyone who is taking English.
