About Michaela

Hi, I’m Michaela—a dedicated and experienced English tutor with a strong background in working with students from diverse age groups and cultures. Over the years, I’ve taught and mentored children through college-aged students in both academic and informal settings, always with a focus on building confidence and clarity in communication. My experience spans across the U.S. and internationally, including a recent teaching and leadership role in Kenya. There, I worked closely with students and staff from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, helping bridge communication gaps and empowering learners to grow in both their language skills and self-assurance. This cross-cultural experience has made me especially attentive to students navigating English as a second language. As a tutor, I bring structure, patience, and positivity to every lesson. About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on building clear communication and confidence in every student. I combine structure with flexibility—tailoring each lesson to the learner’s goals, pace, and background. Whether we’re working on grammar, writing, or speaking, I break concepts down into simple, relatable steps.

Each session starts with a quick review or warm-up, followed by a focused lesson and practical application through conversation or writing. I offer consistent feedback and encouragement to help students grow in both skill and self-assurance.

What sets me apart is my cross-cultural experience. I’ve worked with students from many backgrounds and am especially skilled at helping those who feel nervous or face language barriers. I create a safe, supportive environment where questions are welcome and mistakes are part of learning.
