About Martha
My name is Martha Verden and I year 25-26 will be my 11th year teaching English. I graduated in 2013 from the University of Texas at Arlington with two degrees, one in English and one in Critical Languages and International Studies with a minor in Mandarin Chinese. I absolutely love teaching and my goal is to make you love learning. Also, I have 4 cats, one dog, and one hedgehog. I have a son who is going into third grade and a husband who also teaches 7th grade Reading.

As a tutor, my goal is to help spread my love for reading and writing to middle school and secondary school students. I believe in making course content student-centered and engaging for the student so that they develop a passion for the subject. I follow a traditional "We will and I will" teaching framework. This starts with a warm-up, followed by direct teacher instruction, followed by the student's demonstration of the content.
