About Alecsa
I am a certified 5th-grade teacher in her final semester of graduate school. I have been teaching for two years in the South Bronx and am looking forward to many more! I have experience teaching classes, small groups, and one-on-one tutoring for students of all English proficiencies. I am able to provide engaging lessons both in-person and online.
Especially with President Biden's recent announcement that we will be having mandated state-testing, it is crucial that your child builds proficiency and confidence with their English skills. Look no further! I support students in all areas of literacy including reading comprehension, idea generation, literary writing, and test-taking skills.

I use the Univeral Design for Learning (UDL) to identify your child's unique strengths and areas for growth. I think it is crucial to teach the whole child, and prioritize getting to know your student and leveraging their unique strengths to support their progress.
What to expect: I will provide an introductory passage to assess your child's starting point. From there, I will identify strengths and needs on an ongoing basis to create bite-sized takeaways that align with your child's zone of proximal learning. Lessons are not too hard, but not too easy- just right for your child to feel confident, capable, and challenged.
