About Leia

I am a student in theater with a view of becoming an actress. I had my French baccalaureate last year with a very good grade in a literary section with advanced English. Then I spent a year in London where I went to a theater school and worked also as a waitress on weekends. This year allowed me to become bilingual as well as understanding literary texts (such as Shakespeare) in English. Next year I will do a theater school in New York. I currently live in Paris (in the center).
I also hold the IELTS English diploma.

About the lesson

My teaching method depends a lot on the students, their age and their English level. However, I think one of the best way to become bilingual (or simply have a good level) is total immersion. So I assume that I will speak mainly in English during the lessons and will have simple conversions with the students, or more elaborate ones for middle school / high school students. For the youngest I will use games to make them learn more vocabulary and thud make this process fun. For older students I will also work on basic grammar and tenses to ensure a clear expression and for the most gifted I will work on more literary texts. Then I also work a lot on pronunciation because knowing the vocabulary is one thing but being able to be understood is much more important. For this, reading aloud is very useful. Finally, as I really like art, I will be happy to work on theatrical texts, give advice on films to watch or books to read to reinforce what has been learned.
