About Juvy Claire
Hello, I'm Teacher Claire, an experienced ESL educator with a passion for guiding students on their language-learning journey. Over the past seven years, I've had the privilege of teaching English to diverse learners hailing from various corners of the globe. My teaching experience spans both traditional classroom settings and the dynamic world of online education.
One of the highlights of my career was the opportunity to teach English in Japan, which not only enriched my cultural awareness but also shaped my teaching styles and techniques.
My goal is to provide students with an effective language-learning experience that not only helps them achieve their goals but also instills a lifelong love for language and communication. I'm excited to share this journey with you!

I specialize in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to non-native speakers.
My teaching method is grounded in a communicative and student-centered approach in which learners engage in real-life situations and conversations such as role-plays, discussions, and problem-solving activities to promote communication.
Here's a sample ESL lesson plan for a beginner-level class focusing on the theme of "Introducing Oneself." This lesson is designed for a 25-minute session:
*Lesson Title: Introducing Oneself
*Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to introduce themselves in English, including their name and nationality.
*Materials: Whiteboard, markers, flashcards with images representing personal information
*Introduction (2 minutes):
-Greet the students and establish a positive classroom atmosphere.
-Briefly introduce the lesson's goal: "Today, we'll learn how to introduce ourselves in English."
*Vocabulary Building (3 minutes):
-Present and explain key vocabulary: name, nationality, "My name is..." and "I am from..."
-Use flashcards or visual aids to reinforce vocabulary understanding.
*Modeling (3 minutes):
-Provide a simple model introduction: "My name is [Your Name]. I am from [Your Country]."
-Repeat the model introduction a few times, encouraging students to listen and repeat.
*Interactive Activity (10 minutes):
-Have students pair up.
-Ask each pair to take turns introducing themselves using the model: "My name is [Name]. I am from [Country]."
-Circulate and provide guidance as needed.
*Whole-Class Practice (2 minutes):
-Invite a few pairs to introduce themselves to the whole class.
-Encourage applause and positive feedback from classmates.
*Variation (3 minutes):
Introduce a twist: Ask students to introduce their partner instead of themselves.
For example, "This is my friend [Partner's Name]. He/She is from [Partner's Country]."
*Review and Conclusion (2 minutes):
-Summarize the main points of the lesson.
-Emphasize the importance of practicing introductions in English.
-Assign very light homework: Ask students to introduce themselves to a family member or friend at home.
*Closure (2 minutes):
Thank the students for their participation.
End the lesson on a positive note.
I take a highly personalized approach to teaching, tailoring my lessons and strategies to meet the specific needs and goals of each student. I also recognize that language learning is not just about mastering grammar and vocabulary but also about effective communication within diverse cultural contexts.
My lessons are designed for a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced learners, adults and young adults, business English, interview/exam preparation, or any specific language needs.
