About Eden
I am an English as a New Language (ENL) teacher with over 15 years of experience in a K-12 public school setting. I have administered, scored and successfully prepared hundreds of K-12 students for the ACCESS 2.0 test, which is the state standardized test for most English Learners. Before the pandemic, I was already gathering experience teaching online through platforms like VIP Kid. I have thrived and enjoyed teaching online, and lead other ENL teachers in my department in building excellent, relevant, accessible lessons for online English Learners.

Mastering academic English should be engaging and relational. I am a warm, friendly and dynamic teacher who understands the challenges students face when they are learning academic content in a new language. I use the Project GLAD teaching model which combines beautiful, realistic visuals and constant interaction to teach academic vocabulary and content. After I have a firm understanding of what topics my students need to learn, I lead them through a series of visual inputs with plenty of chances to practice speaking and writing in a fun and comfortable setting. As we continue to build understanding, we prepare for a final writing and speaking product that will demonstrate a strong understanding of the content and ultimately prepare them for their state standardized English test.
