About Rosa
I am a writer and artist. I read English at Cambridge where I read a great many things and specialised in Victorian poetry. I am interested in all kinds of literature. For literature in English I take an interest (especially, not exclusively) in English Romanticism, Shakespeare, English and American Modernism.
I started teaching English Literature as an undergraduate. Since then, I have helped many students improve their writing and develop intellectually through reading and discussion. I have tutored a number of students through their applications to Oxbridge, all of whom have been successful in securing places.
I am currently working on a book ‘The Wings of Daedalus’, about memory and poetry and a film ‘My Sister in the Time of Hunting’, drawing on interests in myth, theatre and the far north.

I teach English literature from Chaucer to the present day. I also encourage reading books in translation. What we cover will depend on your interests.
You will be encouraged to read widely. You will learn to think seriously and to write intelligent criticism. If you are interested in developing your craft as a writer or poet, I can help you.
For university admissions, I will help you improve your personal statement and prepare you for any interviews. Interview preparation tends to involve extra curricular reading, discussion and mock interviews.
