About Tom
I initially struggled with English Literature when I started my A Levels, but I quickly was able to catch up and eventually earn myself the highest possible grade by working hard. I put a lot of emphasis on my essay writing skills, as the coherence of the argument in an essay is arguably the most important part of it. It doesn't matter how valid the points you make are, if the reader can't understand them.

I have an A* in English Literature at A level and will be offering hour-long sessions. The lessons are ideal for anyone doing their A levels currently - doing the texts Frankenstein, The Handmaid's Tale, A Streetcar Named Desire and Hamlet, as well as Romantic Poetry and the Poems of the Decade. I am the optimal tutor for any student struggling with their essay writing skills. Skills like the embedding of quotes and context and comparing texts without sacrificing the readability and flow of the essay come with practice, but it is important to learn how to do that. I will read any essay a student has written for school and give more specific feedback, working through it step by step, as well as assigning essays myself to give the student more practice. Writing plenty of essays is important at becoming a better essay writer and improving the grade.
