About Enya Young

English has always been what I’ve enjoyed more than anything else and this has often shone through when helping my peers with homework or generally helping them to understand content. Ultimately, this has led me to seek a Literature degree at university with a view to then become an English teacher (maybe even a university lecturer one day!) and share my passion with students the way my own English teacher did. Having a younger brother with a much more practical than academic mindset, however, has enlightened me to the importance of catering to the needs of the individual student as opposed to following a universal, rigid structure that often makes a large number of students feel that they just aren’t smart enough or their brains just don’t work in an academic way.

About the lesson

My lessons will be catered entirely to your needs as a student, in contrast with the more rigid teaching structure in schools as a whole classroom has to be accommodated. We will start with an overview of the basics to see where we’re starting from and build from there, working up to being able to effectively answer essay questions with a strong and persuasive academic voice and critically analyse and evaluate texts.
