About Vaishnavi
I'm Vaishi, a current first year student studying English with Film and Television Studies. English Literature has been my favourite subject at school for as long as I can remember, so I would love to make my students feel as inspired as my teachers made me feel! GCSEs and A- levels can definitely take away the joy of reading but I would love to enhance your understanding of literature and help you think beyond how to answer a question and get full marks.
In my spare time, other than reading, I'm part of the feminist society here and I also love to do yoga. During the summer, I also helped to tutor GCSE students from my school and I generally find that lessons work best when they're more interactive and not just me talking at you. I always love to hear what my students have to say and simply help them assert themselves in an exam-oriented way.
Try to enjoy the process of reading, even though it can definitely be stressful and I look forward to teaching you!

I like to teach by incorporating exam papers but also moving away from the robotic essay style. I also prefer to focus on helping my students to critically formulate their own argument by encouraging open discussion, making the learning experience more fun and interactive.
The typical length of a lesson would be an hour and I have had almost a year of tutoring experience online and for students in my Sixth Form.
These lessons are best suited for GCSE and A level students and I can also help proofread personal statements and assist with university entrance exams that require essay writing.
