About Nathan
As a younger individual myself among many experienced tutors out there, I'm able to connect with younger students and understand what they're going through. Being closer in age to the students I work with, I was in their position not long ago. As a student myself, I’ve been praised by several teachers for my reading comprehension and my writing skills. I've also had the benefit of being tutored by someone close to my age, so I understand how helpful the support can be. I’m known within my summer camp organization for being patient and understanding with the campers I’ve supervised and mentored. I've worked in small groups with students in grades 1-8, helping them with English, math, and science using materials provided by their teachers. I always do my absolute best to help students approach their academic challenges with as much patience and understanding as possible. I make a genuine effort to ensure minimal stress and a more manageable experience with their academic journey.

As a tutor, I focus on making English and literacy easy to understand by breaking down concepts into simple steps. I explain things step by step and make sure the students understand, not just memorize.
I focus on the basics—reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary—to prepare younger students to advance to the next stage of their academic career, whether it be middle school or high school. I am more than willing to adjust my teaching style depending on how the students learn best and what they need the most. I understand how some may need more examples and clarification, but some may need more practice with guidance along the way, and I stay patient no matter what the student needs.
Here’s what you would expect in a typical lesson:
Each lesson would start with a quick review of schoolwork or goals, followed by a walkthrough of material the student is struggling with. I will explain concepts step by step, then guide the student through exercises or writing tasks to reinforce learning. Sessions will end with a recap to clarify anything still unclear and next steps for improvement. I’m also happy to provide updates to parents/guardians on progress after lessons if requested.
(Note: I am willing to adjust sessions depending on school assignments, test prep, or the student's comfort level.)
My availability this summer is very open until the last week of August, so I’m a great fit for elementary/middle school students enrolled in summer school. My availability starting the first week of September is to be determined; however, I will try my best to accommodate time for students who wish to continue their studies under my mentorship.
