About Courtney

Recently completed my Bachelor of Psychology (Honors) at Monash University, culminating in an honors thesis which explored computational modeling of emotion valence and reinforcement learning.

I'm taking some time away from uni (to live!) before going back to complete my PhD. I completed English language and English Literature units in high school (ATAR score of 94.6), and it remains my passion away from my career.

Sessions are goal-oriented and judgment free, with diagnostics, practice, and feedback that builds real skills. Psychology insights into learning barriers mean tailored, engaging lessons which translate directly to helping you master literary analysis, essays, and academic writing, and research skills.

About the lesson

Lessons start with diagnostics to identify gaps, then progress to targeted practice (e.g., unpacking a poem's structure before drafting an analytical essay). This ensures deep understanding over rote memorisation.

Lesson Structure and Length:
Typical sessions last 60 minutes: 10 mins review/goal-setting, 30-40 mins active analysis or writing, 10 mins feedback, questions, and homework.
Shorter 45 min intros available for younger students; longer 90-min deep dives for exam prep or uni assignments.

Qualifications and Experience:
Monash University Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) graduate. ATAR score of 94.6 from Darwin High School.
Strong background in analytical writing from psych research and high school English Literature and English Language.
I've been tutoring high school students in various English subjects and Psychology for several years. I have also mentored younger students and peers through uni assignments and now offer structured support.

Target Students:
Years 7–12 (middle/high school) needing English language/literature prep, and university students needing essay/research skills.
