About Julien
Hi everyone! My name is Julien, and I'm a college freshman at Clark University. I've recently graduated from The Rivers School, a private high school in Massachusetts.
I've been taking Latin since middle school, and all the way to AP Latin in my junior year. I love the language, and the more time I spend with it, the more I've come to appreciate its value. Latin was the foundation for many of the valuable skills I will carry with me into higher education. I hope that I pass pass down these invaluable skills to you as your Latin tutor!
Additionally, my love for reading and writing has been a constant source of inspiration throughout my academic journey. There's a special joy in delving into books and exploring them from fresh and unique perspectives. I relish the opportunity to analyze literature in novel ways, uncovering hidden meanings, and igniting meaningful discussions. As an English tutor, I aim to ignite that same passion within you, and help you discover your voice as a writer!

I'm here to help students at beginner and intermediate Latin levels, offering support in note-taking and studying. I'm also your go-to person for improving reading comprehension, as well as helping with developing analytical essays. If you're struggling with a challenging book, I'm more than happy to help break it down and discuss it!
I believe in tailoring my teaching method and techniques to meet the unique needs and learning styles of my students. In classes such as Latin and English, it's all about the gradual and natural progression. I will always start by asking the student what their goals are and what they are struggling with. This helps me design a customized and goal-oriented plan that hones in on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, or writing skills – whatever they deem as important.
What makes me stand out as a tutor is that I've been in your shoes as an AP Latin and AP English student, and I've spent the last two summers as a Latin TA. It can be difficult, but my mission is to break down tricky concepts in a way that's easy to understand and works for students. After all, accessibility is what makes learning fun!
