About Clare

I have been teaching English Language for six years in the classroom and as a tutor. During that time, I have taught students working towards AQA, OCR and Pearson Edexcel exams at GCSE and Functional Skills.

Each person learns differently, and I design tutoring sessions that support individual needs, working with you to use resources that appeal to you and help you to learn. I work with you to build your confidence in communicating through spoken and written English, developing your understanding of how the English language is used for different purposes and working on writing techniques that enable you to convey your ideas clearly in writing. I also guide your reading, so that you gain a fuller understanding of writers' meanings. When working towards an exam, it is also important to develop exam skills to give yourself the best chance, so I show you how to approach the different types of question you will be asked.
