About Terence
I'm an Englishman who left behind a life as an accountant by moving to China in 2003. I learned to speak basic Chinese and to teach in an informal but structured way which my Chinese students responded well to.
I married and had a son and in 2024 returned to the UK.
I have taught English to a wide range of ages and have improved their English levels and left them confident in their ability to speak English in both formal and informal settings.

Students for English will begin with reading and pronunciation work before moving on to vocabulary and grammar practice.
Most classes follow a formal structure and homework is given at the end of every class.
Class times vary with age of student. Students aged 5 to 8 will usually take 30-minute classes, with older students taking 45 to 60 minute classes.
I worked solely as an in-person English teacher for Chinese university students for 8 years before expanding into elementary and middle school after-school teaching.
Lessons are available for new beginners of any age, and after a level test, lessons for older, more intermediate students will receive level-appropriate lessons.
