About Anna-Sophia

As a speech and debate competitor for 2 years, I've collected numerous wins in Original Advocacy speech, Original Oratory speech, and Parliamentary debate, while developing my critical thinking, analysis skills, persuasion. I am a member of the National Speech and Debate Association with the National Forensic Degree of Distinction.

As a high school junior, AP Lang student, and competitive public speaker, I aim to help others master the arts of writing, analysis, and persuasive communication. With over two years of private tutoring experience and a National Forensic Degree of Distinction from the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA), I bring a diverse background of experience and concise analytical skills to English.
I utilize my background as a successful speaker in Original Advocacy and Parliamentary Debate to help students sharpen their critical thinking and argumentation. Having received departmental honors for outstanding performance in English, I am dedicated to helping every student find their unique voice. Whether you are aiming to improve comprehension of complex literature, polishing an essay, or building a stronger writing foundation, I strive to provide the guidance and confidence needed to excel

About the lesson

A strong student in AP Language confident in Rhetorical analysis, argument, and synthesis essays. Developed strong skill in oral expression through 2 years in competitive speech and debate.
Teaching philosophy:
- Set clear goals to strive for improvement
- Curriculum tailored to students' learning (Visual, auditory, etc.)
- Mentorship focused student-teacher interaction
- Develop critical thinking and analysis skills through writing

- Initial assessment of reading comprehension and writing level
- Personalized goals (i.e. "improve comprehension of complex nonfiction texts" or "develop analysis skills for AP level writing")

- Application: practice applying lesson focus to students' writing/reading
- "Plan of Action": strategies to apply lesson and improve writing/reading/speaking in class
