About Kyla
I have a Bachelor's of Art (humanities) as well as a philosophy degree. This makes me the perfect English teacher because I can teach academic English and touch on topical issues in topic-based lessons. I have a wealth of experience with adults and young learners as well as extensive training. My TEFL course extended over 300 hours and included advanced grammar, lesson planning, teaching online, teaching young learners, business English, teaching one-to-one, and more comprehensive course work.

My teaching method can be best described as a student-centered approach where I limit my talking time in order to allow the student to practice the elicited language in a relaxing and conducive environment. I encourage my students and take a real interest in their lives in order to make practical suggestions according to their learning styles and circumstances. I only use cold error correction- that is assisting the student with their grammar after they have finished speaking. I think this is important for the students' confidence and fluency. I believe that learning a language should have an application in daily life and activities and that's why I base my lesson around relevant and interesting topics.
